Are Grants Available for Loft Insulation?

Yes, grants are available for loft insulation.

The Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO) Grant Scheme is part of the Government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO). The ECO scheme aims to make homes more energy-efficient, including by providing warm loft insulation grants.

Local Authority Flexible Eligibility (LA Flex)

Local councils now have the opportunity to widen the criteria for energy-efficient measures to more people through LA Flex. This allows more homeowners and tenants to apply for funding.

LA Flex allows councils to:

Target the coldest homes.

Consider the health of the occupants.

Put the necessary loft insulation grants in place to help warm homes.

The Government loft insulation grants primarily target households with a low income (typically under £30,000) and aim to help vulnerable families or those struggling with chronic illness, including:

Households with children under six years old

People with mental health issues

Those over the age of sixty-five

Pregnant mothers

Disabled individuals

People with heart disease or breathing problems
